Sebuah tahap perantara dalam penipisan film yang telah memenuhi syarat untuk dipertimbangkan menerima Academy Awards. Kategori tersebut ada sembilan, beberapa diantaranya dokumenter terbaik, film internasional terbaik dan lagu terbaik, serta aksi langsung dan film pendek dokumenter terbaik.

Pemungutan suara untuk daftar pilihan selesai dilakukan pada 5 Februari kemarin, dan selanjutnya akan dilakukan pemungutan resmi tahap pertama pada 5-9 Maret bulan depan. Sedangkan nominasi Oscar akan diumumkan pada 15 Maret serta pertunjukan dilangsungkan pada 23 April.
